Kate’s Kitchen with Teens: Wham Bam Ham Panini
Welcome to Kate’s Kitchen with Teens. Here is a fun, unique way to make a healthy sandwich!
Serving: 1 Panini
What You Need:
2 slices Rye bread (no seeds)
2 ounces ham (about 2 medium slices)
1 ounce gruyere cheese (about 1 medium slice)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
½ pear, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons butter
Preheat a griddle pan over medium heat, or panini press (heat setting: panini). Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter. On a griddle, place a slice of bread butter-side down. Build your sandwich by topping with ham, mustard, cheese, and pear slices. Top with the other piece of bread, buttered-side up. Grill for about 4-5 minutes or until bread is browned and cheese is melted. *If you don’t have a panini press, you can use a tinfoil covered brick. Place the brick on the panini. Flip to cook other side; use an oven mitt to lift and remove the brick.
